Tangu is a mask hung on the wall to prevent evil spirits and wish longevity. There remain various forms of Tangu. The first is one shaped likea tiger's head, and the second is one that holds a sharp sword in its mouth, which is a significant symbol of Tangu. It is said that Jangdoryong, -[who was] a Taoist in the Donghan Period, mastered a magic of expelling evil spirits and since then he drove out demons with a sword, riding on a tiger. The third appears to stick out its tongue.
