'Chyam' is a religious mask dance performed at Lamaseries in Tibet, Mongolia, Nepal, etc. Chyam is held in Buddhist masses that worship gods and expel misfortunes. Defenders of Buddhism appearing in Chyam were originally Tibetan native gods with violent character. They were initially antagonistic to Buddhism but were evangelized by an old saint and finally promised to protect Buddhism. Their angry faces remind of violent ghosts, but they are a Buddhist power that expels evil spirits.
